Police officers from South Yorkshire Police’s motorcycle wing led the way alongside world super bike champion James Toseland at this year’s annual charity egg-run organised by South Yorkshire Police and Three Shires Honda Owners Club to raise money for Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity.
550 riders took part in the ride on Sunday 4th April beginning their journey at South Yorkshire Police’s Operations Complex on Europa Link, Sheffield before riding through Attercliffe, up the Wicker, past West Bar and up to Weston Park, to finish opposite Sheffield Children's Hospital where Doncaster-born James helped deliver a mountain of Easter eggs to the children.
James said: "The Egg Run is something I really look forward to each year. It's great to meet up with other bikers and to be able to meet staff and patients at the hospital. The children at the hospital are the bravest kids you could ever meet, they really are an inspiration."
The Children’s Hospital Charity are also one of the supported charities of the National BikeSafe Motorcycle Show being held at Sheffield Arena on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 June 2010.
